:: Singapore Quality Class

The Institiute was one of the first recipients of the ‘Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisation’ (SQC). The SQC is only given by the Singapore government to organisations which are deemed to be world-class. SIC is proud to be part of a world class organisation in our pursuit towards helping others succeed.

:: Enhanced Registration Framework

The Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations set out a new regulatory regime effective from 21 December 2009. The Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF) administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE) spells out the mandatory registration requirements and legislative obligations which all private education institutions, operating in and from Singapore must fulfil.

Our College is registered with the CPS for a 4-year term from 3 June 2010.

 

:: EduTrust Transition Listing Arrangement

Edutrust is a voluntary certification scheme that is administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE) to distinguish higher quality players in Singapore's private education industry.

Private education institutes need to be EduTrust-certified in order to provide and offer placement for international students who require Student Pass visas from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). The CPE has granted our College with EduTrust Transition Listing arrangement to facilitate provision of placement for international students.

In fulfillment of EduTrust certification requirements, our College has in place the following:
:: Fee Protection Scheme

In December 2009 SIC introduced the CPE endorsed Fee Protection Scheme (Insurance Scheme).


:: PEI-Standard Student Contract

SIC requires that all students and/or their legal guardian must sign the PEI-standard student contract.

:: Grievance Policy

At SIC we believe that feedback is an important part of our efforts to continually improve our products, delivery, administration and service quality.

The following feedback/grievance channels available student request forms (both hard and soft copy), evaluation forms; e-mail

Where a student makes a formal written complaint this will be:

  1. Entered into the grievance register and acknowledged
  2. Will be handled in a professional manner and will be resolved within 21 days
  3. If a student believes that their feedback is not being properly addressed they should immediately contact feedback@sic.edu.sg with the details of their case
  4. If after SIC has replied and the student is still dissatisfied with the outcome they can consider one of the following channels; apply to CPE Student Service Center for mediation.

a. Notice to withdrawal must be given in writing and will be based on the date the written notice is received by the Registrar's Office. Verbal requests will not considered.
b. The percentage of fees refundable is based on the total tuition fee payable

:: Privacy Policy

This statement sets out SIC’s policies relating to your personal information.

SIC is committed to ensure the privacy and security of personal information by introducing appropriate practices and procedures in each of its campuses.
All personal information collected will be used mainly for evaluating your application, for internal business and administrative purposes which includes billing, program and service offerings, updating your records, notifying of upcoming events and customer service.
SIC will restrict access to personal information to authorised SIC personnel and/or partner Universities and/or Colleges and external agencies on a need to know basis according to what SIC’s Registrar’s Office determines to be official and educational interest. Personal Information means personally identifiable student information received from the student or arising in the course of the student’s time in SIC.
SIC will disclose personal information to external parties in the following cases –

  1. CPE requests of information;
  2. Data sharing with Government agencies or statutory bodies or non-government agencies authorized to carry out specific Government services, in order to provide more effective and efficient services to a student;
  3. When it is customary to release or publish information by Universities or Colleges or other educational Institutions, including but not limited to prizes, medals, scholarships, classes of honours and other marks of distinction, and student or graduation status;

Besides official and educational interest, SIC will grant access of personal information only after seeking the consent of the student for such disclosure. A student may provide such consent at the time of admission to SIC.

SIC will retain a student’s personal information only as necessary for the effective delivery of services to the student.

This Policy is subject to revision at the discretion of SIC from time to time and is subject to any applicable law mandating or otherwise requiring disclosure

 

:: Transfer Policy

SIC allow transfers in accordance with immigration’s regulations.SIC endorse all transfer requests provided the student has no outstanding dues.

Before endorsing a transfer requests, SIC will investigate the reasons for such a request and would like to know if SIC can correct ourselves in any way to ‘recover’ the student by implementing certain corrective action.

If the request is appropriate and SIC agree that the move is in the best interest of the students SIC will endorse it. If however SIC believe that such a move is not in the students best interests SIC will seek to council the student as to the appropriateness of their decision and this is handled by a senior management staff.
