COURSE SYNOPSIS
The B.Sc Computing & Information Systems degree has been developed to enable students to develop in-depth knowledge of both computer science and information systems. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2 GCE ‘A’ LEVELS and 3 GCE ‘O’ LEVELS (one of which must be Mathematics). Those without the A levels may alternatively qualify through the University of London's Diploma in Computing & Information Systems

B.Sc. Computing & Information Systems

B.Sc. Computing & Information Systems is from Goldsmiths College and has a different structure to the other B.Sc degrees in that the first and second year are fixed, with the options all in the final year. The other significant difference is that many of the units have assignments which are set and marked by Goldsmiths.

The year 1 subjects are:

• Introduction to Information Systems
• Introduction to Computing
• Introduction to Java and Object-Oriented Programming

The year 2 subjects are:

• Software Engineering & Development
• Telecommunications & Computer Communications
• Database Systems
• Programming: Advanced Topics & Techniques Introduction to Computing

In the final year students are left with 4 papers which are split between the project and six half units. Students can choose from the following half units:

• Artificial Intelligence

• Human Computer Interaction
• Mathematical Techniques of Operations Research
• Accounting Information Systems
• Information Systems Management
• Decision Support Systems & Executive Information Systems
• Algorithmic Graph Theory
