| The SIC programmes
are structured to accommodate the varying needs of students. There
are two types of programmes that students may choose from:
1. Full-time programmes
2. Part-time programmes
All SIC’s programmes have been designed
not only for the purpose of directing the students towards “examination
success” but also with the aim of exposing students to current
and relevant business practices that are essential “tools”
for tomorrow’s successful managers.
As part of the support services provided to the
students, the part-time classes are video-recorded and made available
to the working student who may inevitably miss classes. The tapes
may also be loaned to students who wish to revise or clarify new
and unfamiliar topics covered during the lessons. Students may
view the tapes at the library or borrow them for viewing at their
convenience at home.
An academic year typically consists of 4 terms
and an intensive revision term depending on when a student enrolls
for the programme. The minimum class-contact time a student would
receive is about 270 to 360 hours in each academic year for a
degree programme. Please see our academic calendar and
a time-table on website.
Full-time Programmes
The full-time programme is intended for those
who can attend classes during the day and is specially designed
to support students who have limited working experience. Classes
are held from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5.30pm. Students
following the Integrated Programme will receive approximately
500 hours of total class contact time, and they will be expected
to participate in other activities, including group assignments
and projects. Numerous other activities are also planned to make
their study at SIC a well rounded experience.
Part-time Programmes
The part-time programme is intended for students
who are working and who wish to attend classes after work. Classes
for these students are held two or three times a week in the evening
from 6:45pm to 10pm or on Saturdays from 2:30pm to 6:30pm and
total class contact time for this programme will be about 270
hours, including the intensive revision.
